If you like making things with your own hands, then undoubtedly you love to learn how you can make a useful thing from those materials that are at hand in any home. For example, such a necessary item as a whistle can be built from a regular cocktail tube.

- Plastic cocktail tube
- Scissors
- Safety pin
Instructions
Step 1
Take a cocktail straw and cut off the base for the future whistle from it, but the piece should be at least 9 cm. The longer it is, the lower the sound that the homemade whistle will make.
Step 2
The next step to make a whistle is to cut a piece of plastic 1 cm from the edge of the straw. Cut it off at a 45 degree angle. This will make the tip of the straw look directional.
Step 3
Closer to the opposite end of the future whistle, on the same side of the tube, make 2-3 holes using a safety pin or any other sharp object. Be careful not to pierce the opposite side of the straw.
Step 4
Use two fingers to squeeze the end of the straw close to which the round holes are. Keep the end pinched until the flattened position is locked. The distance between the sides of the straw should be 2 mm.
Step 5
To test your new whistle, blow into the flattened end of the straw while placing your fingers over the circular holes. You can pinch them in different order - this will change the sound that your whistle makes.
