multi-colored chintz or satin (other fabric is also suitable that will not melt from contact with hot dishes), threads, insulation (it should also not melt when heated), braid, lace or other decor to taste.
instead of the usual insulation, you can use several layers of dense fabric, for example, side skirts, jeans.
1. Make a paper pattern. To do this, just enlarge the picture below in any graphics editor and print. Change the size of the pattern depending on the size of your own palm, remembering to leave a large enough allowance for a loose fit (at least 2-4 cm on each side of the palm).
2. According to the received pattern, cut out four parts from chintz and two from insulation. Note that you need to cut out the details in the mirror image from the diaper - you should get two "right hands" and two "left" ones.
3. Overlay each piece cut from insulation with two calico pieces and sew them by hand or on a sewing machine, and also hem the edge with a zigzag seam or overlock. After that, you can sew the mitten around the edge and turn it inside out. Finish sewing by trimming the lower edge of the mitten with a bias tape of the same chintz or braid.
decorate your potholders with embroidery, applique made of contrasting fabric, sew braid, lace, but remember that such potholders should be functional and safe first of all. Avoid hanging parts that could catch fire or melt!
