Among young parents today, ready-made sets have become very popular, allowing them to make an impression of the pens and legs of their newborn children in order to preserve them for the future as a souvenir. This idea is really original and interesting, and does not require any special knowledge from you to implement it. Using ready-made materials, you can easily and quickly make your own impression of a child's hand or foot.
Instructions
Step 1
Get a measuring cup, fork, plastic container, and a sculpting mold, which can be a simple bowl. If you purchased the impression kit, you will find a bag of 3D gel in it. Pour 100 g of powder into a bowl and prepare 160 ml of warm water. The colder the water for diluting the gel, the slower it will harden.
Step 2
Wait until the child falls asleep so that the procedure for taking the impression does not frighten or disturb him, and pour the prepared water into the powder. Stir the mixture thoroughly with a fork until you get a smooth, lump-free consistency. Grasp the edges of the bowl and tap the bottom against a hard surface on a table or chair.
Step 3
This will get rid of air bubbles in the solution. While the gel is still fresh, dip the child's open palm into it, and then the foot of his leg. After a while, the gel should harden.
Step 4
The setting time depends on how warm or cold the water in which you diluted it was. After hardening, carefully remove the gel molds from the baby's handle and legs.
Step 5
Dissolve gypsum powder in a small plastic container and stir with a fork. The composition should acquire the consistency of liquid sour cream and not have lumps. Gently pour the plaster solution into a silicone mold from the hardened gel.
Step 6
Gently tap the bottom of the molds on the table to expel any air bubbles. Pour, in this way, two forms and wait 30-40 minutes until the plaster has completely hardened. You can check the degree of hardening of the gypsum by hand - during the hardening process, the gypsum heats up.
Step 7
Turn the molds upside down and remove your casts from them. To make them look more neat, sand the unevenness and roughness with fine sandpaper, and then polish the figures and dust off with a cloth or brush.
Step 8
Finished casts can be varnished, glued to the base with superglue and placed in a frame.
