It is a great pleasure for many to sculpt various figures from plasticine and plaster. To preserve your favorite figure for a long time, you need to sculpt it from plaster. Let's try to consider how to sculpt a snowman figurine from plaster.
It is necessary
- Gypsum;
- water;
- brush;
- sunflower oil or soap;
- scissors;
- paper;
- wire.
Instructions
Step 1
Before removing the forms, the model must be carefully studied, mentally divided into parts, so that later each piece of the form can be removed without effort. Imagine this demarcation and define auxiliary lines that the snowman figure would divide into three parts.
Step 2
Use a pencil to draw vertical lines on the model that are barely visible. One such line will divide the figure into two parts. Draw another line from the side, it turns out that the third part is "cut off".
Step 3
Place the snowman on the table and cut small strips of thin tin. Best cut from a tin can. Stick the metal strips into the model along the lines you have already marked.
Step 4
Prepare a spare block of plasticine, cut it into plates with a thin wire of the desired size. The figurine is all overlaid along the same lines with a plastic border so that the fence of the desired height is obtained.
Step 5
Cover the back half of the figurine with one layer of wet newspaper to prevent the plaster from staining other surfaces when molding.
Step 6
Brush the side that is not covered with newspaper with sunflower oil.
Step 7
Now we have to work with plaster. Take a rubber cast and pour water up to half the container. Start rolling the plaster of Paris until a small bump appears above the water. Mix all this thoroughly. The result is a gypsum solution.
Step 8
You need to work with gypsum quickly, otherwise it will harden. Using a spoon straight from a plasterboard, cover the surface of the figure, bounded by the metal plates. They will prevent the plaster from spreading.
Step 9
For the form to be strong, you need to make reinforcement. Cut into strips of wire and apply over the first layer of plaster. And then, cover the figurine with another layer of plaster. After 20 minutes, everything will harden and you will need to remove the plates and paper.
Step 10
With a sharp knife, you need to align the plane of the cut. Use the tip of your knife to drill out a few small holes. They are needed so that the pieces fit together. Shake off any remaining plaster crumbs with a brush.
Step 11
Grease all edges and surfaces with sunflower oil. Cover the second part of the figurine with plaster of paris solution. Before shaping the second figure, stick the metal plates along the lines that were previously delimited, and cover the surface with wet paper.
Step 12
Expand the form. Use a knife to gently stagger along the connection lines. Having disassembled into three parts, clean the plasticine figurine of plaster and remove it. Now it is no longer needed, because we received an exact copy, only from plaster. Dry the mold well.
Step 13
Cover the dried, disassembled form with varnish. Place in a warm place to dry.
Step 14
Put the two pieces of the snowman together, secure with wire and carefully start pouring the plaster solution inside. After an hour, the plaster will harden and you can separate the two figures again. Inside, you will get an exact figure of a snowman, which was previously molded from plasticine. Place the finished figurine on a shelf so that it cures completely well.
