To cast plaster sculptures, you must first make a mold. Previously, these forms were most often made from gelatin. Recently, new plastic materials have appeared, which in their properties are not inferior to traditional ones.
It is necessary
- Two-component silicone
- Chipboard for container
- Wood glue
- Sculptural plasticine
- Small diameter round stick
- Wax
Instructions
Step 1
Make a container for the fill. Match the planks to the shape or cut the edges of the chipboard container. Glue the details together. Let the container dry.
Step 2
Divide the clay into small pieces. Lay it in even layers in a container. Thoroughly smooth the surface of the clay, there should be no cracks on it.
Step 3
Place the mold in the plasticine. Use a round stick to make holes. They are needed so that later you can connect the two halves of the form together.
Step 4
Wax the surface of the model.
Step 5
Calculate the amount of silicone required. It can be calculated by measuring the container.
Prepare the investment material. The ratio of the components is indicated in the instructions, it must be strictly followed. Cook the mass only for the part of the form that you will be doing now. Pour the investment into the container.
Step 6
Leave the top of the mold alone until it hardens. After that, completely remove the plasticine.
Step 7
Wax the model again. Do the same with the form. Do not forget to grease with wax and holes-"locks". Prepare the silicone, pour it over and wait for it to harden.
Step 8
Disconnect the mold and extract the model, then reattach the parts of the mold together.
