It is necessary

  • - a piece of fabric,
  • - foam rubber 1 cm thick,
  • - lace is slightly longer than the perimeter of the crib,
  • - satin ribbon 1-2 cm wide and 10 m long

Instructions

Step 1

To sew a bumper with separate pieces for each side, measure the length, width and height of all sides of the crib.

Step 2

According to the obtained dimensions, draw 4 details of the sides of the crib on paper. Cut out the patterns.

Step 3

Cut out all the pieces from the fabric, two pieces for the inside and outside. When making a pattern, add 1 cm seam allowances on each side.

Step 4

Sew the parts cut out from the fabric on a sewing machine along the edges with a zigzag stitch.

Step 5

Cut out 4 similar foam parts according to paper patterns, reducing their size by 0.5 cm on each side.

Step 6

Cut 25 strings 35-40 cm long from the satin ribbon. Finish the edges of the ribbons.

Step 7

On the front side of the bumper parts, sew lace along the top edge at a distance of 5 cm from the top.

Step 8

Mark the tie points at the corners of the bumper parts and along the top edge at the same distance. Fold the ties in half and attach the ties at the designated locations.

Step 9

Fold two fabric pieces from each part of the bumper with the outer sides to each other so that the long pieces of the attached ties are on the inside and the short ends protrude 0.5 cm from the edges of the fabric pieces.

Step 10

Sew all the details, leaving 20 cm of unstitched bottom edge on each part of the bumper. Through this hole, turn all the stitched parts with the outside outward and insert the foam elements into them.

Step 11

Sew on the neatly left holes.

Step 12

Hang the resulting bumper parts on the corresponding sides of the crib, securing them with ties to the crib parts.

Step 13

In addition to lace frills, you can sew a fun applique or a pocket for spare diapers on the inside before joining the two sides of each bumper wall.
