There has been an interesting and dramatic period in the history of our country. At that time, writers and poets were united into a Union and a chief was appointed over them. I must say that this organization has helped many talented writers. However, Nikolai Glazkov did not fit into its structure. His fellow writers and critics did not really like him, but they respected him.

A characterization of any poet is written as an overview of his works. And through the prism of the created images, a conclusion is drawn about the character of the person who composes the poems. Yes, a person can be talented, but poorly managed. The formal biography of Nikolai Glazkov gives some idea of the motives behind his work. The family in which the future poet was born was rightfully considered intellectual. His father was engaged in jurisprudence, and his mother taught foreign languages.

How Kolenka's parents ended up in a remote volost of the Nizhny Novgorod province, history is silent. However, some features of rural life Glazkov, as they say, rhymed: "And the troubles of love in the forest are funny and cute - ants bit it, mosquitoes bit me." It is hard to imagine that such couplets could be published in a collection of poems about increasing labor productivity. From the very beginning, when the young man began to get involved in working with words and rhyme, he stood out among his fellow-writers with a non-standard perception of reality.

When Nikolai was 19 years old, in 1938, his father was arrested. They quickly convicted and shot. Such were the regulations in those days. At that time, Glazkov-son was educated at the Moscow Pedagogical Institute. Two years later, the student was expelled from the educational institution for activities incompatible with the title of a Soviet student. So he would have remained a dropout, but timely help came from his own. Nikolai Aseev, a famous proletarian poet and a close friend of Mayakovsky, gave him a recommendation to enter the Literary Institute.

Formation and recognition

In a word, it is difficult to assess the contribution of Nikolai Glazkov to Soviet poetry. When the war began, he was not called up to the front due to poor health. Somehow, while continuing his studies at the Literary Institute, Nikolai was interrupted by odd jobs. For three years he worked as a teacher in a rural school in the Gorky region. According to the reviews of people who knew Nicholas closely, in no situations did he lose optimism and presence of mind. Relations with women developed in different ways. The first wife spat and left the uncontrollable eccentric.

Personal life unexpectedly improved when a little-known poet met a ceramics artist named Rosin. The husband and wife found harmony and a son was born to them. Meanwhile, the first collection of Glazkov's poems was published in one of the state publishing houses. The book was printed not in the capital, but in the city of Kalinin. Since Nikolai Ivanovich was an outwardly colorful person, but internally meaningful, filmmakers drew attention to him. Glazkov played a cameo, but memorable role in Tarkovsky's film Andrei Rublev.

In the last years of his life, Glazkov no longer lived in poverty, although he did not fatten. The career of a poet, translator and extra on the set of films does not imply large fees. In his apartment on the Arbat, a creative get-together regularly gathered, as they say today. The poet worked hard. To a large extent, he created the foundations for meaningful works, but postponed the final polishing for later. As often happens, there was not enough time to complete what was started. At the age of 60, the poet died.
