Biography

Early period

Nikolay Speransky was born in 1886 in Vyshny Volochyok. This was the territory of the Tver province. Kolya's father was in charge of the river station of the Ministry of Railways.

The boy grew up as an inquisitive child, learned to read early. In 1896 he was enrolled in the first class of the classical gymnasium in the city of Rybinsk. The parents decided to move to live in Mologa in order to be closer to their children who were receiving secondary education.

In 1904 Nikolai graduated from the gymnasium with honors and was awarded a gold medal. In the same year I entered the University of St. Petersburg for the first time.

Career

The student did not have enough money to live, he had to return to Rybinsk in 1905. There Nikolai quickly found a job. He got a job in an underground printing house, established relations with the Social Democrats.

Father was transferred to work in Rzhev. The family followed him.

Speransky continued his studies at the university. Received a diploma of higher education in 1909.

Nikolai Nikolaevich was invited as a teacher at the Proskurov school. Having gained teaching experience, Speransky moved to the Varnavinskaya gymnasium for women in the Kostroma region.

In search of a higher salary, Nikolai went to St. Petersburg. He got a job as a statistician at the information and publishing bureau of the Ministry of Agriculture.

Since 1913, Nikolai studied meteorology at the Moscow Agricultural Institute. A year later he went to the front, served as a private in an infantry rifle regiment. November 7, 1914 Speransky was wounded. After completing a rehabilitation course, he went to live in Samara, where he worked as a meteorologist.

Political activity

In the spring of 1917 Speransky joined the ranks of the Social Democratic organization, took part in the meetings of the provincial revolutionary committee. Colleagues elected Nikolai Nikolaevich as Deputy Commissioner of Agriculture.

In 1918 Speransky became a member of the RCP, after which he was approved as the secretary of the provincial revolutionary committee. Nikolai developed a political career, he was elected a candidate member of the All-Russian Central Executive Committee of the 8th convocation.

From 1922 Speransky worked in Moscow in the Glavlit of the RSFSR. After 2 years, he was already a member of the commission of the Central Committee of the RCP for the development of a draft regulation on the press.

In 1924, the social activist returned to Samara, where he took up the post of head of the department of history of the provincial committee of the RCP. He collected documents on the history of the party movement.

Speransky rose from an instructor of the Central Control Commission of the All-Union Communist Party to the editor of the geographical journal "Meteorological Bulletin". He actively studied the stratosphere, wrote reports on this topic. He even planned to build a stratospheric balloon for lifting with people to a height. Soon the idea of Nikolai Speransky came true - the stratospheric balloon "USSR-1" was created.

Later, the meteorologist returned to teaching, periodically engaged in writing.

Despite the fact that Speransky made a great contribution to the development of the political movement, in 1940, for an anti-party conversation with an unknown person, he was deprived of his party card. Only 18 years later, the activist was rehabilitated in the party's case.

On July 9, 1951, Nikolai Nikolaevich Speransky passed away.
