The kitchen is the warmest and most soulful room in the house. There is a center of heat that attracts all people present in the apartment. It is for the kitchen that you want to make exclusive decor with your own hands, for example, a panel.
Panels for the kitchen based on eggshell
Take hardboard or any sheet of plastic of the desired size, prime gently on the smooth side, and then additionally apply acrylic white primer. Prepare a large enough amount of eggshell, remove the inner film from it. It is advisable to do this immediately after breaking the egg, for scrambled eggs, for example, so the film will come off easier. It is better to take colored shells, with shades from yellow-brown to ivory.
Apply PVA glue to a small area of hardboard and carefully glue the shell with the outside outward. Press down on the pieces with your finger to make them stick. The fact that they break at the same time is not scary. You need to create a slightly embossed surface with many cracks to get the craquelure effect.
Try not to use parts of the shell with stamps, the ink can bleed through under the paint and spoil the whole look of the panel. To fix the base, apply another layer of PVA glue on top and leave to dry. When the glue is completely dry, cover the shell with white acrylic primer and blow dry. Now you can apply a drawing to the resulting original textured canvas. This can be decoupage from napkins, a printed image or an ornament on rice paper.
Place a file on the front side of the selected picture and wet a napkin with clean water. Remove the polyethylene, gently smooth the surface of the pattern with your hands or a soft roller. When the image is dry, apply blending glue or PVA, blow dry. If you have chosen a ready-made picture for the panel, you do not need to do anything else.
Please note that if you decide to paste over the future panel with napkins for decoupage, you can simply stick the cut out drawings on an egg sheet without getting wet with water. If you applied a clean sheet of rice paper to the canvas, paint it yourself with acrylic paints according to your skills.
Cover the panel in three layers with varnish, dry, sand with zero sandpaper and hang it on a rope or twine. The rope can be threaded through plastic in several ways. You can simply attach a loop behind the panel, or you can make holes and tie them with twine going to the front side. This method is good if you make several small panel scenes, they can be fastened with a rope to each other, one canvas under another.
Simple panel of newspaper tubes
You can do it differently. Roll many tight tubes from newspapers or any other unnecessary paper. Form a tight spiral out of them, gluing the tubes to thick cardboard. When you get the large spiral ring, flatten it out with a chop hammer. Paint the middle with a light color and the edges with a darker one, this will help focus on the picture. Cut out images from decoupage napkins and varnish. Decorate the panel to your liking and hang it on the wall.
