It is always nice to have some handmade furniture in your apartment. One of the places where it is very cozy and pleasant to sit is, of course, the kitchen. One of the most common types of kitchen table is a folding table, which takes up little space. Let's look at the main stages of making it with our own hands. Basically, this is the countertop that will be your table.
Instructions
Step 1
Determine the size of the table. Most likely, it should be of medium size. In principle, 50-60 centimeters are enough for one sitting place. From the end, you will have to take into account the distance between the legs - so that it is not crowded. Making a table smaller than 90x50 makes little sense for an ordinary practical environment. Six full-fledged seats are, for example, 120 cm by 80 cm.
Step 2
Make a table top (table top) from laminated chipboard or furniture board. Practice shows that chipboard is more tenacious in kitchens. Order parts from a furniture fittings company. The legs can be made of wooden beams. Of course, you can not waste your energy and purchase ready-made legs - wooden, metal.
Step 3
Prepare the countertop - saw off evenly and process the edge, if this was not done before you. The best option for a furniture board is a jigsaw and sandpaper. It is better to saw chipboard on a machine - it is cheap, and the result is excellent. Rounding the corners is also cheap.
Step 4
Trim the PVC countertop with a thicker tape, 2mm or more - such an edge will withstand washing and the term of use, protect and protect sharp corners, if any. But you can also order this trimming in the workshop.
Step 5
Then reinforce the countertop if it is less than 28 millimeters thick. It can be a "false table top", or, more simply, the same board from below, but 10 cm narrower and shorter. The material for her is the same as for the main one. You can make a solid table from two equal plates, which are stacked together. The base of the table is covered with melamine tape.
Step 6
If you buy table legs from a store, you will get both stands and screws for them. Fasten and screw the stands at the corners of the table top. Attach the legs to the table. This whole process can take you up to one hour, if you have ready-made parts.
