Translated from Sanskrit, mandala means a sacred circle. Among Buddhists, the mandala is considered the sphere of divine dwelling and is used in meditation. In addition, drawing mandalas helps to understand yourself, concentrate on your desires and achieve peace of mind.
It is necessary
- sheet of white paper
- compass
- ruler
- paints
- markers
- colour pencils
- crayons
Instructions
Step 1
To get started, find a quiet, calm place where no one will distract you and you can fully immerse yourself in the creative process. It will take you 1-2 hours on average to create a mandala. Take your time, drawing a mandala is not so physical as it is spiritual. To create a relaxing atmosphere, you can light incense and play soft music.
Step 2
Take a piece of paper and draw a circle of the desired diameter using a compass. This is the basis of our future mandala. Using a ruler, divide the circle into 4-24 segments, drawing lines through the center. Draw smaller circles inside the main circle. You will end up with something like a spider web or mesh.
Step 3
When the basic structure is ready, you can move on to filling the mandala with flowers and shapes. Close your eyes and imagine what colors you would like to observe in your mandala, what shades, in what combination. However, you should not think for a long time, the energy of flowers will itself pour out onto the paper from your consciousness. If nothing comes to mind - just fill the mandala with geometric shapes, symbols - the subconscious mind takes over all the work and the drawing is formed by itself.
Step 4
When painting the mandala, focus on the chosen color, feel its energy. Reflect on which colors you like the most, which ones are repulsive. Draw not with your hands, but with your soul.
Step 5
The finished mandala can be hung over the bed, placed on the table - placed in a place where you are in peace and tranquility, where your energy prevails. Look at the mandala - and the positive emotions that you put into it when creating it will inspire and nourish you.
