You don't have to invent a complex composition to paint a graceful Japanese-style picture. Draw a beautiful bird perched on a tree branch. An excellent model will be a large starling with shiny black plumage, casting deep blue-green shades.
It is necessary
- - easel;
- - thick white paper for drawing;
- - brushes with synthetic and natural bristles;
- - acrylic paints;
- - plastic palette;
- - pencil;
- - water-based markers.
Instructions
Step 1
Attach a sheet of heavy, smooth watercolor paper to the easel. Try to paint with acrylic paints - they give a bright and clear color, mix easily, and, if necessary, lay down in thin translucent layers, with which you can well imitate the plumage of a bird.
Step 2
Use a pencil to outline the silhouette of the starling. Draw him in profile, sitting on a tree branch. Draw the large body of the bird with a short tail and large folded wings. The starling has a small head with an expressive long and thin beak. Its distinctive feature is a very beautiful shade of feathers with tints of deep greens, browns and bluish-gray tones on a black background.
Step 3
Dilute acrylics on a palette. Add a little white to the green tone, add a drop of water. Moisten a wide, natural-bristled brush and in large, loose strokes, apply paint to the sheet, going around the bird's contours. Paint on a brush with white paint and paint a few spots on top of the green. Moisten the brush with water and lightly run it over the sheet, mixing paints. Dry the background.
Step 4
Mix black and blue paint, dip a synthetic bristle brush into the mixture and paint over the bird, applying short strokes along the growth of the feathers. Dry the paint. Dip a thin brush in undiluted green acrylic and use fine strokes to mark the feathers on the wings. Repeat with brown and blue paint.
Step 5
Moisten a natural bristle brush with water and sweep lightly over the feathers. Dry the paints. Using a thin brush, take some yellow paint and draw a beak. Place a white stroke near its base and slightly blend the borders.
Step 6
Paint on the brush with brown paint and depict the branches of the tree on which the starling is sitting. With a thin brush dipped in a mixture of white, yellow and red paint, paint the bird's legs. Paint over the starling's eye with black acrylic, putting a white highlight in it.
Step 7
Take a black marker and carefully trace the outline of the starling. Draw separate feathers on the wings and tail. Dampen the brush with white paint and paint subtle strokes on the plumage to simulate the natural shine.
