Flowers can be a decoration for a festive table or room. They highlight or create a good mood. And if the flowers are made of paper, like the water lily in our example, they will also become an exercise for training quick wits and fine motor skills.

Instructions
Step 1
Take a square sheet of paper (white or tinted). Bend it along both diagonals and unfold it again. Bend the corners of the square towards the center so that the sides touch. Rotate the resulting square so that its corners are located on the vertical and horizontal axes (the square becomes a diamond). Fold the corners towards the center again.
Step 2
Turn the shape over with its back to you. On this side, also bend the ends towards the center.
Step 3
Then with your left hand, bend the triangle you just folded back. Feel for a piece of another triangle on the back of the workpiece that this piece is connected to. Bring this back triangle up and gradually fold it over to the front of the model by pressing down on its base and wrap it around the corner of the square. Those. the corner is inside the petal. In order not to tear the paper, you can completely bend the adjacent triangles on the outside, and after the petal is brought out from the wrong side to the outside, the adjacent triangles can be returned to their previous position.
Step 4
Lift and form all four petals of the paper water lily in this way.
Step 5
Then flip the origami over with the back facing you and fold back the remaining triangles. Use your fingers to lightly press on their center from the upper side, giving a rounded shape to the petals.
Step 6
The finished water lily can be painted with watercolors or decorated with small sparkles.
