In order to convince your friends and relatives that your pyromania is exceptionally peaceful, you simply must, for example, at a holiday in your family circle, blow up a few confetti firecrackers.
Now you will learn how to make a confetti cracker at home using available tools. To do this, you should acquire: a cardboard sleeve, corrugated multi-colored paper (for colorful decoration), confetti filling (pieces of foil, serpentine, etc.) and a pyrotechnic charge that detonates from friction.
There are two types of such a cracker: in the form of a candy, which has strings on both sides, or it looks like an ordinary cylinder, which is equipped with a rope loop on one side.
Now let's take a step-by-step look at how to make a confetti clapper with your own hands.
- In order to prepare a pyrotechnic mixture, it is necessary to mix (in no case grind) dextrin and berthollet's salt in small amounts. After that, red phosphorus and antimony should be added to the composition. Stir very carefully. In the absence of the necessary components, silver or mercury fulminate can be used.
- If you decide to make a candy-shaped cracker, then the strips of hard cardboard should be coated with a pyrotechnic composition, which will be set in motion with the help of ropes. In this case, a cardboard sleeve is not needed, and the filling of the cracker is just wrapped in corrugated paper.
- If you prefer a cylinder-shaped confetti clapper, then in order to make a cylindrical confetti clapper, you need to take the following steps. The sleeve on one of the sides must be tightly pulled and an insert made of thick cardboard is inserted into it, in which there will be a small hole in the middle, through which the rope will subsequently be threaded. After all these manipulations, the hole in the rate is cemented using a pyrotechnic mixture that has been prepared in advance. In order for the detonation to be of high quality, all this is pressed from above with a piece of paper.
You can, of course, purchase the confetti filling in the store, however, it is not always available for sale. Needless to say, it is much more pleasant and simpler to start making confetti filling your firecrackers at home, for example, to make multi-colored circles using the most ordinary hole punch.
