Drawing vegetables and fruits is an interesting activity. Easy-to-understand shapes and vibrant colors are available even to those who have never painted before. The pumpkin can be part of a still life. She is simply irreplaceable on a Halloween postcard. In the famous fairy tale by Gianni Rodari "The Adventure of Cipollino", which you will most likely read to your children, Kum Pumpkin also acts, and the kids will be very happy if you draw him. But you just need to start with the pumpkin.
It is necessary
- -simple pencil;
- -paper;
- - colored pencils or paints;
- -pumpkin.
Instructions
Step 1
Drawing from life makes sense to start with creating a composition. Place the pumpkin at some distance from you, on a small elevation. Its position should be the same as it will be in the picture. If you are drawing a Halloween pumpkin, the eyes and mouth should be visible.
Step 2
Consider the shape and determine the approximate height to width ratio. This is most conveniently done by stretching your hand and pencil towards the object. Align the sharpened tip of the pencil with the highest point of the pumpkin. Mark the lowest point with your thumb and note the distance. Then, align the tip of the pencil with the most convex point on the left and mark the same point on the other side.
Step 3
The position of the sheet of paper depends on the ratio of width to height. If the pumpkin is wide and low, it is better to lay the leaf horizontally. Mark a point at the bottom of the sheet. Imagine that there is a vertical line running through it. You can outline it with a very thin pencil, but in general it is not necessary to do this, since the outlines of the pumpkin are an irregular circle. Along an imaginary line, set aside a segment of an arbitrary length and put a point.
Step 4
Find the middle between these points. Determine the proportions of height and width, set aside segments of the corresponding length from the middle to the right and left. Add two more points. Connect all points with a circle. It may not be right.
Step 5
Take another good look at the "nature" and identify convex and concave places. Adjust the circle on the sheet according to your observations. It's okay if the outlines on the paper are not quite the same as those of the pumpkin lying in front of you. Its shape can be very different, from almost correct to very bizarre.
Step 6
Many pumpkins have stripes. Consider how they are located. They go from the middle of the upper line to the middle of the lower one, roughly like the meridians on the hemisphere map. Draw such stripes first with a thin pencil, then roughly estimate their proportions in relation to the width of the pumpkin and draw with more noticeable lines.
Step 7
For a Halloween card, define eye spots. Divide the height of the pumpkin into about 3 pieces. On the border of the upper and middle parts, draw 2 triangles, on the border of the middle and lower parts - something like a crescent, the convex part of which looks down. You can also make a nose by drawing another triangle in the middle, approximately on the center line.
Step 8
Color the pumpkin. Cover it with one coat of orange paint. Try to keep the paint flat. Shape the image by keeping the middle light and darkening the edges. Let the paint dry. Make the lines dark green or yellow. If there is a face, paint over the slots with bright yellow.
