Instructions
Step 1
Prepare a fairly thick wool blend yarn and five thick knitting needles. For a cap of an ordinary size, 100-150 m of yarn is enough.
Step 2
Begin knitting the hat on five knitting needles like a hosiery, starting from the bottom edge. Cast on two needles 60 stitches. Increase the number of loops if the head circumference exceeds 55 cm, and the number of loops should be increased if you are knitting a hat from thin threads.
Step 3
Distribute the dialed stitches in a circle between the four knitting needles. Combine them into a ring. Now take the fifth knitting needle as a working needle and start knitting the fabric with the front stitch in a circle. Continue knitting in a circle until your sock is 30 cm long.
Step 4
Close the top loops by passing the end of the working thread through them and tightening it in a knot. Tie a knot on the wrong side of the cap and secure the tip.

You can knit a hat-stocking not only with knitting needles - it is easy to knit in both techniques. If you prefer to crochet and do not own knitting needles, you can easily crochet a hat stocking by choosing a yarn of the right thickness and a hook of a suitable diameter.
Step 6
Experienced as well as novice knitters can knit a simple stocking hat overnight and then wear it by tucking the bottom hem to the desired height.
