To draw a puddle, you will have to find or take a photo of it. Only by carefully examining it will you be able to capture the full depth and complex combination of colors. You will have to carefully recreate every centimeter of this small "reservoir" to show the old pavement, and the reflection of the sky in the water, and raindrops.

Instructions

Step 1

Fasten the sheet horizontally to your easel or tablet. Sketch with a hard pencil. At the same time, try to press the pencil as weakly as possible so that the lines are not visible through the layer of paint.

Step 2

Divide the sheet into five equal parts with vertical lines. Measure out two pieces to the left. This space will occupy the section of the sidewalk that is in the frame. Erase the rest of the lines. Slightly tilt the segment that marks the edge of the sidewalk to the left. Draw the shape of the cobblestones that paved the surface. When doing this, keep in mind the laws of perspective that make the bottom of each brick look wider than the top. Do not draw the sides of the parallelograms perfectly straight, imperfection of the drawing will make it more realistic.

Step 3

Divide the width of the sidewalk in half. Set aside the same segment from the border of the pavement to the right and put a point. Divide the height of the sheet at this level in half. At this point, the center of the puddle is located, from which circles diverge, slightly elongated upward. It is not necessary to draw the shape of the circles; it is enough to indicate their location with short lines.

Step 4

Use a nag eraser to loosen the sketch lines so that they show only slightly. Color the drawing with acrylics. Apply a rich color to the elements of the pavement and immediately, before the paint has dried, wash it away where glare is visible on the wet stone.

Step 5

The circles on the water must be filled with different colors. The bottom of each circle is brick brown, the top is a combination of blue and gray. At the same time, the top of each wave should remain almost white, the main color in the upper half is concentrated on the inner part of the wave, and in the lower half - on the outside. In the center of the puddle with a thin brush, paint a splash from the drop.

Step 6

In the upper half of the puddle, add white highlights - the reflections of the clouds. Draw bumps in the asphalt and small pebbles below.
