Little fluffy pom-poms look great on baby booties. You can decorate booties with a pom-pom in different ways: just sew to the finished product or make strings with "bombs" at the ends. At the same time, making the pom-poms themselves is quite simple.
It is necessary
- Needle with a large eye
- Threads
- Cardboard or thick paper
- Compass
- Scissors
Instructions
Step 1
Take cardboard or thick paper and draw a circle of the diameter you need with a compass (the size of the finished pompom will be the same). After that, draw another circle inside, the radius of which will be about two to three times smaller. The denser the pompom should be, the larger the radius of the inner circle should be. Cut out the workpiece: you should have a fairly wide ring. Pattern another ring of the exact same pattern.
Step 2
Fold both pieces together. Thread the needle into the needle (best of all - the same ones that were used to knit booties - the main or finishing color). Wrap the cardboard rings with thread until the inner hole of the workpiece is completely filled with thread.
Step 3
Using sharp scissors or a razor blade, lightly cut the threads along the outer edge of the ring and slightly push the edges of the cartons apart. Insert scissors between them and carefully cut the threads along the entire circumference - so that, as a result, a bundle of short threads appears in the inner ring of the workpiece. Spread the rings a little and tie the bundle tightly in the center, tightening the knot as tight as possible.
Step 4
Remove the cardboard blanks from the pompom and fluff the threads. They will immediately take the shape of a ball. All you have to do is trim the pompom by cutting off the threads sticking out of it - and the bootie decoration is ready!
