Matchboxes are an excellent material for original crafts with children. You need to apply just a little creative thinking so that completely unusual and useful things turn out from familiar everyday objects.
Matchbox toy
Many animals can be made from matchboxes. For example, make a giraffe with your baby. To do this, glue the two boxes together to form the body of a giraffe. Glue two more boxes to it - these will be the legs of the animal. Three boxes glued together with the letter "G" will represent the neck and head of a giraffe. When the craft is completely assembled, paste over it with yellow paper and draw the specks of the animal and eyes with a felt-tip pen.
Dollhouse furniture
You can make a bed for a small doll out of boxes. Glue several boxes side by side. Draw a headboard on the cardboard so that it can be glued across the width to the base. Cover the cardboard with cloth or colored paper. The boxes can be painted with acrylic paint. Clip the parts together. Complete the bed with a mattress, duvet and pillow. They can be sewn from any fabric, and then carefully stuffed with cotton wool.
You can also make a TV for a dollhouse from a matchbox. Matches fixed with plasticine can serve as an antenna.
A doll bedside table is assembled from two or three boxes, which are glued with a flat part on top of each other. Then the bedside table must be pasted over with colored paper or painted with paint. Decorate the front of the drawers with wooden toothpicks. Glue them back to back and use scissors to remove any excess.
