In almost every home, you can find CDs that have served their life: cracked, scratched, or simply unnecessary. Do not rush to throw them away, the second life of discs is possible, you just have to connect a little imagination.
Useful things for home
The most common use of old CDs as a cup holder for tea or coffee. For this purpose, the disc can be used not only in its original form, but also to decorate it: for example, using acrylic paints or decoupage. The stand will become even more original and stronger if you glue it with beads, small pebbles, seashells or coffee beans.
You can use a disc, including decorated with the methods described above, and as a candlestick.
If there are a lot of old discs, try to construct furniture or at least parts of it out of them: for example, table legs or nightstands.
Those who are worried about their appearance can take advantage of the good reflectivity of the CD, and use it in the absence of a mirror.
Unusual crafts from disks
Discs that have served their time can be turned into a beautiful fish. To do this, you will need two CDs, plastic (you can also take cardboard, but in this case, the product will need to be protected from moisture), rhinestones or sequins for decoration. Fins, tail and lips for the fish need to be cut out of plastic. Details are decorated with rhinestones or sequins, and then fixed between two discs, all this is glued with glue. The result is a sparkling fish that can be used as a Christmas tree or car decoration, and in the summer as a garden decoration.
Fans of unusual chips in the interior decorate rooms with discs, completely covering the wall with them or creating a composition from them. It looks very impressive when the discs are superimposed on each other, it turns out something similar to fish scales. It is advisable to tie the discs with inconspicuous thin threads or fishing line. You can use liquid nails or glue to fix the elements to the wall. But when choosing a means for this purpose, it must be borne in mind that someday you will have to tear it all off.
Roses made from discs are a real masterpiece. To make them, the discs are notched with scissors from the edges to the center to get the blanks of the petals. Next, you need a candle and tweezers. Heating the petal over the flame, bend it inward with tweezers. In this case, the place of the cut is slightly melted, which creates the feeling of the unevenness of the petal. When several such blanks have been made, they need to be connected. It is important that each next element is larger in diameter, that is, less concave. Most of all, the inner part of the flower is bent to form a bud.
