For a person who does not shy away from manual labor, it will not be difficult to sew a soft toy fish from pieces of fabric that will surely be found in any home. Using the example of creating this fish, you can teach a schoolchild to sew such simple toys himself. At the same time, organize a workplace for your further creativity.

It is necessary

  • - pieces of fabric;
  • - filler;
  • - a needle and thread;
  • - scissors;
  • - pencil and paper;
  • - buttons for the eyes.

Instructions

Step 1

Draw a simple life-size fish pattern on paper if the one in the picture seems too complicated. In this case, the tail and fins of the fish can be made not so curly and cut out at the same time as the body of the toy. Cut out a paper pattern and secure it to the fabric with pins. Decide in advance what color and from what material you will sew this or that part, lay out the pattern in accordance with the idea.

Step 2

Using sharp scissors, cut out the "spare parts" of the fish from the fabric, not forgetting to leave allowances for the seams. Sew the strips of the toy's body, head and mouth to make one big piece. Sew the eyes with threads or sew on buttons that fit.

Step 3

Fold all matching small fish pieces right over and grind them, leaving holes for the filler. It is better to leave the holes for stuffing in those places that you will sew into the body of the toy. Turn out everything that you have sewn. Using a pencil, carefully fill in the details with a padding polyester or similar material, making sure that irregularities do not form - lumps and voids.

Step 4

Now start assembling the fish - put one piece of the body face up. Attach the tail and fins to the places marked for them in accordance with the pattern so that they are directed inward, then when turned out they will be in the correct position. Baste the details by hand, cover the top with the second part of the fish's body.

Step 5

Then proceed very carefully - it is important to fit all the rather large parts of the fish inside the body, so as not to accidentally sew them where it is not necessary when you sweep the second part of the body. Leave a large enough hole for turning out so as not to tear the parts. For this, the place from the mouth of the fish to the lower fin is suitable. Gently turn all the details onto your face using a pencil. Fill the body of the toy with the filler quite tightly and evenly, sew up the remaining hole with matching threads.
