For a professional billiards game, the cloth plays a very important role, its quality can even influence the game process. Most professionals and amateurs prefer to visit clubs with top quality billiard cloth. However, not only the quality of the cloth is important, but the way it is stretched on the table is also of great importance. So, let's talk about all the nuances of this process.
Instructions
Step 1
Choose a pool table cloth made of high quality fabric. The fabric should be very smooth in order to maximize the ball's acceleration. It is also necessary to lay the cloth according to certain rules; there should be no irregularities.
Step 2
Remember to thoroughly exhaust the felt before stretching. Place it face up on directly on the playing field. Attach the cloth around the corner pocket (any), leaving a small slack in the cloth directly at the cutout of the pocket. Then stretch the felt across the field and do the same with the opposite pocket. Pull the cloth towards the middle pocket and again fasten the fabric around the pocket opening, leaving a slight slack in the felt around the pocket opening, and then perform the same manipulations on the opposite side of the field.
Step 3
Stretch the fabric from the middle pocket to the corner pocket, then do the same on the opposite side of the field. Make out the cuts of the pockets, focusing on your own discretion, most importantly, make sure that there are no wrinkles and folds on the playing surface. Also, do not overtighten the cloth (you can feel it when the cloth is overtightened). Secure the felt around the perimeter of the playing surface, and remove any excess fabric with scissors or a knife. Also make holes in the cloth for attaching the boards - just pierce them with cross-shaped notches.
Step 4
Pay attention to some of the nuances that are also important during the process of pulling the billiard table. For fastening the felt, use small studs with wide heads. They will allow you not to split the edge of the chipboard, and wide caps will provide a better distribution of the load on the fabric at the puncture points, thus avoiding tears. During the constriction, do not use metal spatulas under any circumstances, they can leave hooks on the felt, that is, damage it and make it unusable for play.
