Among the most diverse sports games, table tennis is a very common game - both children and adults play it with pleasure, and this game perfectly develops physical parameters, not to mention the fact that it brings players a lot of pleasure and positive emotions. Usually, to play table tennis, people rent tables on the courts or in sports clubs, but if you make a table tennis table yourself, you can play table tennis at any time.
Instructions
Step 1
You will need two sheets of sanded high quality plywood in a standard size 15-20 mm thick. This thickness will provide sufficient table rigidity. The dimensions of a standard table should be 274x152.5 cm. In addition to two sheets of plywood, prepare four boards about 25 mm thick and two 50x50 mm three-meter long bars. The finished table must be placed in a room of at least 5x8 meters with a flat and solid floor on which players can move freely. The height of the table from floor to table top should be 76 cm.
Step 2
First, make a frame for the table with a crossbar in the middle measuring 220x120 cm, and then fix the table legs at the corners of the frame using wood glue and self-tapping screws. The legs should be the same and strictly perpendicular to the table frame so that it does not stagger or sway later.
Step 3
Cover the table frame with wood antiseptic. Install two sheets of plywood on the frame - directly the tabletop of the future tennis table. Cut the sheets on one side to 137 cm, and then attach hooks to the bottom of the plywood sheets with which they will be connected in the middle.
Step 4
Also, the sheets can be connected using wooden dowels inserted into the holes drilled at the ends. Screw the tabletop to the frame with self-tapping screws, and reinforce the structure from below with metal furniture corners.
Step 5
Thoroughly sand the surface of the table, polish it with fine sandpaper, vacuum and saturate with an antiseptic. After the first two coats of antiseptic, sand the surface of the table, and then apply two or three more coats.
Step 6
Strive for the most even and smooth table surface so that the game at it was successful and enjoyable. Purchase a net for the court separately from a sports store and fix it with clamps in the middle of the table at the junction of plywood sheets so that the top edge of the net is at a height of 152.5 mm.
