Table tennis is one of the most accessible sports for beginners. To learn how to play it, you can sign up for classes with a professional trainer or find a like-minded person, read the rules and exercise at home and in the yard.
Instructions
Step 1
Sign up for a table tennis section or ask your school physical education teacher to introduce this sport into the lesson program. See if fans of this sport are playing in your yard and join their amateur team. You can also learn to play on your own. You just need to find a partner and learn the basic rules.
Step 2
A tennis table should be 2, 74x1, 525 m in size. At home, this rule can be slightly broken by choosing a suitable surface of approximately the same dimensions. Along the central axis, the table should be divided by a grid just above 15 cm.
Step 3
Start your workouts by practicing the serve. Throw the ball up with an open palm at least 16 cm. The ball must be outside the table. Hit him so that he hits your half once, flies over the net and touches the table on the opponent's side. All service points must be obvious to both the spectators or the referee and the opponent.
Step 4
If the ball caught on the net and this was the only mistake, the service is made a second time. The first server must be drawn by lot, then this role is transferred from one player to another every two serves.
Step 5
If the score is equal (20:20 or 10:10), a new player serves each time - until a gap of 2 points is formed.
Step 6
In the case of a team game (2 people), the table must be divided along. Serve the ball so that it bounces off the right zone of your half and flies over to the left zone of your opponents. The server and the batter in the team alternate.
Step 7
According to the rules of professional table tennis, the game lasts up to 11 points, amateurs sometimes play matches up to 21 points.
Step 8
As a result of each rally, one player or team will be awarded a point. It is awarded if the opponent commits one of the mistakes. This can be touching the net or other inaccuracy when serving, hitting the ball on the table twice in a row on one side, hitting it after rebounding on its side, hitting before it rebounds. If you hit the ball with your fingers, it counts as a double hit and scores the second player a point. Touching the table with a hand or touching an opponent with a ball is also "punished". If, as a result of the serve, the ball does not reach the zone of the second player or does not hit the table from his side, this will also bring the victory in the rally to the opponent.
Step 9
You can try the mastered techniques alone. Try to play table tennis in internet simulators. Of course, this will not replace real practice, but it will help develop your reaction speed.
