Predatory animals have long delighted and attracted artists and sculptors with their beauty and independence. Many people dream of learning how to draw tigers, but not everyone is easy to draw, and most people believe that drawing animals is beyond their reach. There are indeed difficulties in drawing this predator - in particular, due to the complex texture of tiger fur, a certain arrangement of stripes and their image on the coat. However, you can draw a tiger with your own hands with only a piece of paper and a pencil.
Instructions
Step 1
Find a picture of a tiger with which you will check from time to time so as not to disturb the proportions. Make a sketch with a simple pencil, repeating the outlines of the real figure of a tiger, and then take an old dry pen and begin to gently push the hairs on the paper, so that later, when drawing the texture of the fur with a pencil, the wool looks more voluminous and does not merge into a general uniform tone.
Step 2
Start drawing the tiger's face from the eyes. Focusing on a real photo, repeat the shape of the tiger's eyes, draw out the outlines of the pupils and eyelids.
Step 3
To paint the stripes, select graphite chips and rubber brushes - this will make the stripes realistic, since it is the nature of the stripes and their arrangement that allows you to create a realistic image of a predator.
Step 4
Mark the stripes with graphite chips, blend them with brushes and create a light fur effect. Guide the brush movements in the direction of hair growth. On the chin of the tiger, use graphite chips to paint dark spots. Correct the feathering and dots with the pointed eraser.
Step 5
Continue to detail the stripes on the tiger's fur with a very soft pencil allowing for deep and dark stripes. Fill in the stripes with a pencil without leaving any ugly gaps. Lightly blend each strip with a rubber brush.
Step 6
Having worked out the stripes, move on to shading the tiger's fur. Smooth the darker areas after shading with a flat rubber brush and shade again. With a thin hard pencil, you can outline the texture of individual hairs. Lighten the excess shading with an eraser.
Step 7
Work with a rubber brush and eraser, shading and blending the coat until you are satisfied with the result.
