Fishermen are a people who observe the signs of successful fishing. One of them is this: a tackle made with your own hands will never leave you without a catch. Therefore, many fishing enthusiasts, despite the large selection of lures in the retail network, prefer to make this bait on their own.
Making your own fishing accessories is fun and cost effective. Quality lures in the form of lures are quite expensive, so many anglers try to make them with their own hands.
What do you need to make a lure for a predator?
In order to make a lure for a predator, you need a metal plate. It can be aluminum, brass, copper, steel. It is important to choose a plate that is thin enough so that you can handle the metal yourself. Its optimal thickness is 0.5-1 mm. From improvised means, a tin can, a piece of galvanized iron is suitable.
In addition to the plate, you need to stock up on a thin stainless wire with a cross section of 1-1, 5 mm. If not, a regular paper clip will do. You will need a tee hook of the right size, a small bead, a little lead. Of the tools, you will need scissors capable of cutting thin metal, pliers, round-nose pliers, a file with a fine notch, a drill with a thin drill.
How to make a spoon for a predator with your own hands?
In order to correctly make a bait for a predator, you need a sample. You can take any of the suitable lures from the fishing arsenal and use it to make a cardboard template. Then you need to put it on a metal plate and circle it with a pencil.
Next, they take scissors and cut out the baubles. Then they arm themselves with a file and process its edges. Then you need to take a drill and drill two holes in the workpiece: one at each end, stepping back a few millimeters from the edge. When the holes are ready, they are machined by chamfering. Then the spoon is bent in these places at an angle of 90 degrees. Thus, the main part of this fishing tackle - the petal - will be made.
Next, you need to attach a tee hook to one of the holes. For this purpose, stainless steel wire is used. It is wound into a ring on the tee and twisted so that it hangs freely. Then both ends of the wire are wound into a bead and fastened through the hole on the petal. A loop is made from the free ends of the wire, to which a fishing line is subsequently attached. It is important to choose the right distance from the loop to the petal, since the size of the sinker, which is attached to the wire twist, should not interfere with its rotation. To prevent the line from twisting during the casting of the spoon, the load must have an asymmetrical shape.
Next, the "wings" of the metal petal with the help of pliers are bent in such a way that the rig looks like a propeller. Now, if you blow on it from the front, the petal will begin to rotate. If this does not happen, you need to bend its "wings" at a different angle. When you achieve the required rotation speed of the petal, cover the spoon with nitro paint of a suitable color.
