The dragon is a huge flying lizard, a fire-breathing hero of many legends and myths. The power and extraordinary strength of the dragon attracts attention to this character, both adults and children. A huge number of modern films, cartoons, books are dedicated to this mythical creature. It is not difficult to make your own "pet dragon" using the technique of the Japanese art of origami.

It is necessary

  • paper;
  • idea of what origami is;
  • fantasy.

Instructions

Step 1

To create a dragon using origami art, just prepare one square sheet of paper. Do not take too small or too large a sheet. The best solution would be a square with sides of 15cm.

Step 2

The corners of the prepared paper square should be carefully bent to its middle.

Step 3

Next, you need to turn the resulting origami dragon blank with the whole side of the square up.

Step 4

On the resulting square, you should very carefully make 2 folds of two adjacent sides. The width of each such fold should be one-fifth of the side of the square itself. "Rabbit ear" - this is the name of this kind of fold in the art of origami.

Step 5

The wide ends of the folds must be folded so that a corner-triangle sticking out upwards is obtained. It should be bent in such a way that it lies on a square, i.e. on the very base of the figurine. This is easily done by pressing your finger on the protruding corner of the triangle itself.

Step 6

Now the upper part of the figure needs to be folded down along the midline. The two sides of the resulting triangle should be folded inside the paper figure. As a result, it turns out that all 3 vertices of the triangle are connected to each other.

Step 7

Then the two front parts should be bent inward of the upper part of the figure, and the back parts should be concave inside the back figure. It turns out a kind of kite.

Step 8

Next, you need to unfold the front and back parts of the folded figure. It should now look like a square.

Step 9

On the front and back of the figure, fold the "rabbit ears" along the already bent lines. Again, the shape will look like a rhombus.

Step 10

Now the right side of the front piece of the shape needs to be flipped over to the left side of the front piece. Connect the left side of the rear part with its right side. The future paper dragon looks like a rooster figurine.

Step 11

From the right side of the figure, the tail of the future dragon should be formed using a fold that resembles a lightning. From the left side of the figure, you need to make the neck of a mythical creature in the same way.

Step 12

After that, the origami dragon's head should be turned out, the ledge on its back should be bent inward and its tail should be bent.

Step 13

The next step in making a paper dragon is to lift its wings up in front and behind the figure.

Step 14

Next, you need to shape the legs of the fire-breathing monster.

Step 15

Now it remains to bend the tips of the origami dragon's paws, creating its claws. The breast and the corner at the base of the tail should also be slightly bent inward.

Step 16

The final stage of making a dragon using the Japanese art of origami is giving an interesting shape to its tail and wings by partially folding them.
