Origami originated in the 1-2 century AD in China, where paper was invented, and by the 6th century it migrated to Japan, where it found its second homeland. Dragons are considered one of the most popular topics in the art of folding paper figures. Folding these mythical creatures out of paper is fascinating and interesting for representatives of all ages, nationalities and worldviews. Join the attribute of Eastern culture by making a dragon out of paper using the origami technique with your own hands.
It is necessary
- - paper;
- - a simple pencil;
- - ruler;
- - scissors.
Instructions
Step 1
The dragon is a sign of a good beginning yang in Chinese mythology and a symbol of the Chinese nation as a whole. This mysterious creature personifies wisdom, pride and inaccessibility, while striking with its grace, grace and incredible attractiveness.
Step 2
Despite the fact that the main tools for creating paper figures using the origami technique are the hands of the "creator", you still need some tools - these are:
• scissors for cutting individual sections and cutting off excess areas of the paper;
• a ruler for drawing straight straight lines;
• a simple pencil for marking the paper when cutting the folding base.
It is better to use colored office paper for origami lessons. It is painted on both sides, has sufficient density and does not turn white on the folds, which are formed in the process of making paper figures. Plain colored paper for children's creativity is also suitable for crafts, but before starting work, be sure to check it for quality - it should not slip and tear in the fold area. There is also a special paper for origami "kami", already cut into square blanks. You can buy such material in specialized stores and departments for creativity.
Step 3
Before you start folding your paper dragon, prepare your work area. Remove objects from the table that will not be used in the creation of a mythological creature, form a comfortable lighting of the work area using a table lamp, lay out all the materials and tools necessary for working in the origami technique on the table.
Step 4
If you took a rectangular piece of paper to create a dragon, cut a square out of it. To do this, lay the workpiece on the table and gently bend its upper corner diagonally. Using a pencil, connect the base of the formed diagonal fold and the opposite edge of the sheet with a straight line, unfold the workpiece and cut it along the drawn line with a clerical cutter or sharp scissors. As a result of these actions, you will get a square and a narrow rectangle.
Step 5
On the resulting square workpiece, measure the midpoints of the sides with a ruler, mark them with dots and connect with thin pencil lines.
Step 6
Along the lines of the rhombus marked with a pencil, gently bend the corners of the sheet of paper with the wrong side up, connecting them in the central area of the square, carefully iron the folds with your hand
Step 7
Holding the protruding corners and pressing them to the central part of the workpiece, turn the structure over. From two opposite corners of the square, draw two straight lines to a point 2-3 cm below the common adjacent corner. Connect the corner and intersection point, bend the edges of the paper along the lines formed.
Step 8
Gently bend the small triangle that looks like a beak from the corner.
Step 9
Using a pencil and a ruler, connect the opposite corners of the square workpiece already used. Divide each side of the square in half, connect the center points of opposite sides with thin pencil lines. Connect the opposite corners previously used in the center, bend the figure diagonally and carefully iron the fold areas with your hand.
Step 10
Bend the resulting corners of the paper structure in the opposite direction and iron the cuffs well.
Step 11
Slowly bending the top of the figure, carefully draw out the free area of the structure. Fold back the ears at the top and bottom of the structure.
Step 12
Similarly to the designation of the ears, bend a pair of wings in the front and back of the workpiece, forming a rhombus with one split side.
Step 13
Connect the cutting points of the workpiece with pencil lines with the nearest obtuse corners, gently bend the forked parts inside the structure so that a shape resembling a "bird" is formed. Tuck one of the bifurcated ends, forming the beak of the future paper dragon.
Step 14
Carefully bend the sharp protrusion in the area of the dragon's back inward, lift the wings up, and form legs from the bifurcated lower corners.
Step 15
Make several breaks on the tail and wings of the workpiece. Bend the tail in different directions, giving it a zigzag shape. Spread your wings.
Step 16
If you used white paper to fold the Chinese dragon, you can continue working on the decoration of the figurine. Using colored pencils or felt-tip pens, draw scales on the body and tail of the mythological character, veins on the wings, sharp claws on the paws, wide nostrils and expressive eyes. In order to make the dragon even more original and realistic, you can make all the small details and elements of the image from colored paper, cardboard or foil, glue them to the corresponding areas of the figure with an adhesive pencil or PVA glue.
Step 17
The dragon in the origami technique is a rather difficult figure to execute, which will be very difficult for a child to cope with on his own. Be sure to control the process of creating a paper monster by your kid and be ready to come to the child's aid in case of problems.
Step 18
Such a craft can become a central exhibit in your collection of origami figurines, a participant in toy battles, a thematic interior decoration, an excellent gift for a fan of oriental culture and an original surprise for a lover of everything unusual and exclusive.
