Raglan is a unique way of making knitwear without a single seam. You need to knit raglan with knitting needles, and circular. At the same time, errors in the calculation of loops and in the direct process are virtually eliminated. Warm blouses look very nice for children of any age. Products are obtained both solid and with a strap, for which buttons or a zipper are provided in advance. And correctly selected high-quality threads will give things an aesthetic look. Instructions
Step 1
Take circular knitting needles and first knit a small test model (about the size of a baby doll), since the sample will still have to be knitted to calculate the loops correctly. To correctly calculate the number of loops, decide what kind of product you will have - solid or with a bar, as this determines the calculation method.
Step 2
If a one-piece product is expected, then cast on the knitting needles the number of loops that is a multiple of 4, for example, 28 loops. Knit the first row with knit stitches and secure the ends together. Knit in a circle with the front stitch, if you do not provide another pattern.
Step 3
Divide the loops on 4 and mark these places with tied stitches of a different color.
Step 4
Knit in a circle according to the pattern: * 5p 1 yarn 2p 1 yarn *. Repeat the scheme 4 times. Knit the next row without crochets with front loops.
Step 5
Keep in mind that through each row the number of loops is added, and then the scheme will already look like: * 7p 1 yarn 2p 1 yarn *, which again repeat 4 times. That is, through a row, add 2 loops on each of the four segments.
Step 6
The 2 loops shown in the diagram will form a line from the neck to the armpits. In total, you will get 4 lines (2 at the back and 2 at the front), which form the raglan sleeve. The number of rows knitted will depend on the size of the product, the structure of the threads and the thickness of the knitting needles.
Step 7
Knit, adding loops through the row until the front and back lines of the raglan during fitting do not freely converge.
Step 8
Secure the armpits and continue to knit in a circle around the front and back. Fill the bottom with an elastic band.
Step 9
Start knitting seamless sleeves. If necessary, if required by the model, the sleeves can be narrowed and also decorated with an elastic band.
Step 10
After the principle of knitting becomes clear, calculate the number of loops for the conceived product, given that it starts from the top of the neckline, which means you need to know the volume of the neck.
Step 11
You can knit raglan with knitting needles not only with the front satin stitch, but also with any other pattern. Knitting "English false" is amazingly suitable for children's blouses, which will add volume to the product. And of course it is better to knit them with a bar. In this case, the number of loops is calculated according to the same principle, only one of the 4 parts is still divided in half, since it is in this place along the edges that the bar will be tied.
