It is necessary

  • - paper (white, colored, old magazines or newspapers);
  • - scissors, ruler, pencil;
  • - PVA glue;
  • - wooden skewers or toothpicks;
  • - paints, decorative markers, acrylic embossed paints for fabric or glass;
  • - cord (leather, textile) or tape.

Instructions

Step 1

Draw a preliminary sketch of the decoration on paper, determine the shapes of the beads and count the required number. They can be of a variety of colors and textures, which depend on the final finish that you make according to the chosen style.

Step 2

The basis of the beads is paper strips rolled in a special way. Beads can be shaped in different shapes: barrel, cylinder, cone, long tube, spindle-shaped or more complex. The shape of the beads will depend on the pattern you choose. If you use a thicker paper, the beads will be more convex.

Step 3

Draw patterns of beads of the shape you need and use them to cut strips (about 40 cm long) from colored or white paper according to the number of beads needed to create the decoration. Iron the strips with pressure with a scissor blade - this is necessary so that the paper fibers soften a little, and it easily wraps in spirals.

Step 4

Take a wooden skewer, attach one of the short sides of the paper strip to it. Roll the paper tightly around the skewer, making sure that the roll is symmetrical and neat. Spread the second end of the strip with PVA glue and press it with your finger for a couple of minutes so that the glue "seizes".

Step 5

Paint the resulting beads with markers or paints, according to the drawn sketch. After dyeing and drying, cover the surface of the beads with a large amount of PVA glue diluted with water. The glue will be their protective coating.

Step 6

Now the beads need to be thoroughly dried. Place skewers with strung beads on the edges of the sides of the box of a suitable size and leave for several hours.

Step 7

After that, the final finishing in the form of convex patterns can be applied to the beads. Apply lines, dots, zigzags or other decorative elements to the surface of the beads with acrylic embossed paint for fabrics or glass (directly with the tip of the tube). Dry the beads again.

Step 8

Take a suitable lace or ribbon of the required length and string the beads in accordance with the sketch of the decoration. Beads from other materials, beads, cord knots or other decorative elements can be placed between paper beads. If the beads are to be spaced apart, secure them with knots on both sides.
