Paper flowers have always been popular. In medieval Europe, temples were decorated with paper garlands. At the end of the 18th century, the production of paper flowers was brought to an industrial level. Today, artificial compositions are used to decorate residential premises, childcare facilities, and halls for special events.

What do you need

Modern craftsmen and craftswomen know how to make flowers of all kinds. With the help of paper, simple devices and their own imagination, they make individual products and whole compositions of roses, tulips, sakura twigs, magnolia and other plants. Skilfully created buds, green leaves, sprigs of needles are woven into the bouquets. Sometimes artificial compositions look so good that they cannot be distinguished from real ones at first glance.

If you're just getting started with the art of making flowers out of paper, get a ready-made art kit. The set of such kits includes materials, photographs of finished products, step-by-step instructions. Following the instructions, it is easy to learn the basics of mastery. Having received basic knowledge, you can connect your own imagination and come up with your own compositions.

Don't want to buy a ready-made set? In this case, it will be enough for you to stock up on corrugated or plain colored paper, napkins, glue, tape, scissors and a stapler. These materials and tools will be enough to start the creative process. As additional materials, craftsmen use cocktail tubes, wire, cardboard, hole punch, ribbons, rhinestones, beads and everything that comes to hand. Plain watercolor or gouache is suitable for coloring paper.

Simple paper flower

The simplest flower can be made from tissue paper. Thin tissue paper adds volume to the petals, and the flowers are elegant and lush. Take several sheets of tissue paper of different colors and cut out several circles from them (6-8). Shape the edges of the circles into petals.

Make the stamens: take a strip of light-colored paper and cut on both sides. You should end up with a fringed paper scarf. Now take a piece of flexible thin wire, make a loop at one of its ends and thread a strip of paper scarf through the loop. The loop should cut across the fringed strip in the middle. Fasten the paper strip-scarf in the loop with glue. Raise the edges up.

Now put the prepared circles on the wire. Squeeze the paper lightly around the wire to add volume to the bud. Fix the resulting structure with glue. When the bud is ready, start making the stem. Grease the remaining piece of wire with glue and wrap in green tissue paper. Cut a flower cup out of green paper, drop a drop of glue on it, pass a wire through the middle of the cup and glue it to the base of the petals.
