Crocheting mittens has many advantages. Firstly, such mittens fit well on the hand and clearly repeat the shape of the palm and thumb. Secondly, crocheted mittens are much warmer than other mittens or gloves, and your hands will definitely not freeze. Thirdly, crochet mittens can be tried on while knitting. Fourth, they look very interesting. And fifthly, they are a lot of fun to knit!

Instructions
Step 1
The back of the hand. Start knitting mittens from the back of the hand. To do this, you need to dial a chain of air loops, the length of which should be equal to the distance from the base of the hand to the end of the little finger. For me, this length is 35 air loops (VP). 3 VP lifts, then knit a row of double crochets, but at the same time leave the last chain untied. In it we knit 8 stsn (double crochet), forming a kind of "turn" towards the side of the chain. After that, we turn our work, 3 VP, and continue to knit with a "turn". It should be noted that it is best to select the stsn by yourself, because their number depends on the thickness of the thread.
Step 2
Knitting rows must be continued until the width of our future mittens is equal to the width of the palm without the thumb. This is approximately 5-6 rows.
Step 3
Inner side of the hand. Start knitting on the inside of the hand in the same way as you started knitting on the back of your hand. Work a row and mark where your thumb is. To do this, we will apply a brush to the first connected piece and mark where the finger starts and count the number of double crochets from the straight piece to that point. I have this number equal to 17 stsn. So, we knit 17 double crochets, then 1 air loop, 1 connecting post to the next loop, then 1 ch, then a double crochet into the next loop. And so we continue knitting. It turns out a depression. Because of this, there will be a gap in knitting. First we will knit one part, then the other. And then the upper edges of this gap need to be tied with a connecting post.
Step 4
Finger. Next, you need to connect the resulting two parts. This can be done in two ways: either sew or crochet. It is best to sew with an “over the edge” seam because the hook pulls the edges a little.
Then, for the finger, we knit the single crochet stitches along the edge of the cut. To make the finger comfortable, we, starting from the third row, will begin to reduce the row, for this we will knit two columns together. It is necessary to do a constant fitting of the mittens to check the comfort of the finger. By the middle of knitting a finger, you can no longer decrease the row. And we will start to close the finger somewhere from the middle of the nail.
Step 5
Crocheting mittens is easy and simple. The main advantage of this activity is that the mittens knit quickly enough, in just a few evenings. If you are not experienced in this field, then knitting mittens will be an excellent exercise for you.
