The use of flounces is characteristic of the romantic style of clothing, as well as the styles of "retro" and "country". The soft wavy folds of this decorative element, swaying with movement or the breath of the breeze, add femininity and airiness to the image. Flounces decorate the neckline, sleeve cuffs, bottom of a skirt or dress. They can be arranged on clothes in falling tiers or sewn in several layers of different lengths and asymmetric shapes. In addition to finishing, there are shuttlecocks, which are constructive details of a garment.
It is necessary
- - graph paper;
- - ruler;
- - compasses;
- - pencil;
- - tailor's accessories (chalk, scissors, pins, measuring tape).
Instructions
Step 1
The base of the shuttlecock pattern consists of two circles circumscribed around the same center. The diameter of the inner circle is usually 8-10 cm. The larger it is, the less magnificent the shuttle will turn out and the less you need to cut out such round parts. To calculate the required number of parts from which the shuttle is composed, you need to divide the length of the sewing line of the shuttle (for example, the bottom of the skirt) by the length of the inner circle of the shuttle pattern. Its length is found by the formula P = 2πR, where R is the radius of the circle, π = 3, 14.
Step 2
First draw a small circle (8-10 cm or more) on a piece of graph paper. Then, from the same center, draw a circle with a large radius that exceeds the radius of the inner circle by the width of the shuttle. On the pattern, mark the direction of the shared thread with an arrow and draw a straight line parallel to it from the center of the circles to the outer edge of the pattern. At a distance of 6 mm on both sides of this line, draw two more lines for the side cuts of the shuttlecock.
Step 3
In order for the shuttlecock, sewn from several parts, to be more plastic in the connecting seams, sometimes the side cuts of its parts are placed obliquely. To do this, cut out an incomplete circle, reducing it, for example, by 1/6 part. In this case, the length of the truncated inner circle will be: P = 5/6 × 2πR. Accordingly, the number of parts of the shuttle is recalculated.
Step 4
Lay out the finished pattern on the fabric, observing the direction of the shared thread. Transfer the pattern to the fabric with tailor's chalk, making allowances for the seams - 1.5 cm along the inner and outer circles and 6 mm along the side cuts of the shuttlecock. Cut out the rest of the shuttlecock in the same way, if it is sewn. To speed up the process, you can fold a piece of fabric in several layers (according to the number of shuttlecocks), securely fastening them with pins to each other so that the fabric does not slip. Circle the pattern on the folded fabric, cut out the details, and then on all layers except the first, mark the seam allowances.
