Meanwhile, you can make a sculpture, a mask, an element of ceiling or wall decor, without resorting to the services of professional workshops. True, this will require a certain amount of time and the ability to sculpt from plasticine. You can find plaster for making sculptures in any hardware store.

Instructions
Step 1
Start sculpting by making a sculptural sketch. It represents the sculpture you have in mind, made in plasticine. For this purpose, it is better to take plasticine sculptural, one-color. You can, of course, sculpt from children's plasticine, but its multicolor will distract from the perception of the form. You need to sculpt on a board slightly larger than the future product. Execution of a plasticine sketch allows you to correct the shape of the product and correct errors and inaccuracies if they suddenly appear.
Step 2
Make a plaster mold. If the product is simple, the mold can only be in two parts. For a more complex sculpture, come up with a variant of dividing into 3-4 parts. Mark the parting lines on the sculpted sketch by pressing small pieces of thin copper foil over them.
Step 3
Dilute the gypsum to the consistency of liquid sour cream. The mass should be homogeneous, without any lumps. Apply the first layer of plaster with a brush to make it even. Let the plaster dry and apply a second coat. With small figures, do this until the plaster layer is strong enough. If you are doing something large, the form must be reinforced with metal reinforcement. It is a copper mesh, which is laid after 2-3 layers.
Step 4
After the last layer has been applied, let the mold dry for about half an hour. Carefully remove it from the sketch. Use a sharp knife to smooth out any imperfections. If necessary, clean with a fine sandpaper, but this must be done very carefully. Leave the form to dry. It should be firm and tinkle slightly when tapped lightly. Cover the inner surface with furniture varnish and dry.
Step 5
If the product is large and the shape consists of several parts, the part must be assembled before casting the actual sculpture. Tie them with copper wire to prevent shifting. Fill the joints with plaster and let the mold dry.
Step 6
Dilute the cast to the same condition as the first time. Pour it into the mold. Since its inner part is varnished, there is no need to fear that a new layer of gypsum will stick to those that are already there. Wait until dry and remove the mold. If you need a few more copies of the product, remove the mold very carefully, being careful not to damage it. Do not destroy the sculptural sketch until all copies are made.
