A simple toy can be knitted in just a few hours, but there will be no limit to your child's joy. Use multi-colored threads - this is a great option for using up leftover yarn. Tie a ball, for example. By playing it, a child can not only have fun, but also be beneficial for development.
Step 2
Since babies love to put objects in their mouths, pay attention to the composition of the yarn. For knitting toys, it is best to choose baby or acrylic yarn. Also check the properties of the threads in contact with water.
Step 3
The ball will have several beats. Choose a thread of one of the colors. Cast on 3 loops on the needles and knit the front side with the front loops, the wrong side with the wrong ones. For basic knitting, you can choose another option, for example, in the middle - purl loops, along the edges - front loops.
Step 4
Further, to form a lobule, add 1 loop in three even rows on both sides. Then add in every fourth row, three times, also 1 loop. A total of 15 loops turned out.
Step 5
Continue to knit 30 rows without changing the number of stitches. After that, start decreasing 3 times, 1 loop in every fourth row, then 3 times in every second row. Close the remaining 3 loops.
Step 6
In the same way, tie 5 more such segments with threads of other colors. Before connecting the parts, you can embroider them or sew on any decorative elements that are also related to you: flowers, leaves, etc.
Step 7
Sew the details of the toy on the seamy side. You can also connect them on the front, then it is best to do this with a hook, tying the lobes in pairs. Leave a small hole.
Step 8
As a filler, you can use a synthetic winterizer, pieces of foam rubber or synthetic wool. You can also put peas, beads or other small parts inside the toy. While playing with the ball, the baby will develop fine motor skills of the fingers.
