Finger puppets are a great way to cheer up a child, as well as a recognized tool for the mental and creative development of children. In this article we will look at the technique of knitting a simple shape of a round finger toy, which you can use as a basis for any character - for example, the heroes of the Smeshariki animated series.
Instructions
Step 1
Since a ball is used as the basis for a finger toy, take a hook of the desired diameter and cotton or woolen yarn.
Step 2
Start knitting the ball using the usual crochet raise and lower stitches using single crochet stitches.
Step 3
When you begin to decrease the last rows of loops, forming the bottom of the finished ball, do not tie it - at the bottom you should get a hole that needs to be filled with a padding polyester or other soft filler. Fill the ball with the filler gradually, inserting a piece of soft material inside.
Step 4
After the ball is filled with padding polyester, start knitting a tube that wraps inside the ball and becomes a finger hole.
Step 5
Around the hole in the base of the ball, knit a row of regular single crochets, hooking the hook over the back bow of the loop. After knitting such a row, continue to knit with single crochet or double crochet in a spiral, forming an elongated tube.
Step 6
To speed up the knitting process, it is recommended to use double crochets. Having connected 4-5 rows of columns, begin to decrease the loops through one so that the tube tapers down, and tie it until its end closes.
Step 7
Fasten and cut the thread and use a crochet hook to pass it through the loop. Then slide the resulting tube inside the ball, turning it inside out with your finger. A hole will form into which you can insert your finger - your toy is ready.
Step 8
It remains to sew accessories, facial features, hands, and other elements to it that will make the toy more interesting and original.
