Many people think that clothing for dogs is overkill, believing that a dog is an animal whose body is adapted to any weather conditions. However, this is not always the case. Clothing for smooth-haired dogs, especially small breeds such as the Toy Terrier, has become not just a whim of the owner, but an absolute must, especially on cold days.
It is necessary
- - 80-100 g of yarn;
- - knitting needles number 2, 5-3;
- - two large knitting pins;
- - hook number 2, 5;
- - tape measure;
- - scissors;
- - a large needle with a wide eye;
- - small lace stops;
- - lace to match the threads;
- - detachable zipper or buttons for fastening.
Instructions
Step 1
In order to build a pattern for a doggy jumpsuit, measure the length of the back from the collar to the tail, the girth of the neck (you can measure it by unrolling the collar) and the girth of the chest.
Step 2
Start by knitting a 10x10 cm sample, and calculate how many loops you get in 1 cm. Then, calculate how many loops you need for a typesetting row. For example, in a 10 cm sample, 30 loops were obtained, therefore, in one centimeter there are 3 loops. If the neck volume is 22 cm, then you need to dial 66 loops.
Step 3
Knit starting at the neckline. Cast on 66 stitches and knit to desired neck length with 1x1 or 2x2 rib. Next, add the loops so that you get a row of holes for the lace. Make a yarn over and repeat after 5-6 stitches. Knit the odd row with an elastic band according to the pattern.
Step 4
… Calculate the number of loops for an increase as follows: calculate the difference between the girths of the chest and neck. Multiply this difference by the number of sample loops in one centimeter.
Step 5
Next, knit according to the pattern to the paws. Now you need to make holes for the sleeves. Divide the canvas into three sections. The middle part will be 12 loops (with two loops becoming edge), and divide the outer parts in half. Slip the stitches of the two pieces onto pins and knit separately. The length of the slits is equal to the length of the back divided by three. If this measurement is 24 cm, then the size of the slots will be 8 cm.
Step 6
Now join all three canvases into one and knit another 8 centimeters. Next, knit the holes for the hind legs, only in this case you should divide the entire canvas into three equal parts. Close the hinges of the middle section. Knit the extreme parts separately 8 centimeters (these parts will cover the dog's rump).
Step 7
Crochet the slit in the back with single crochet stitches.
Step 8
Tie the sleeves, gradually reducing the number of loops. Do not make the sleeves too long, otherwise it will be difficult for you to put on the jumpsuit. A 5 cm sleeve is what you need. Tie the legs a little longer than 7-8 centimeters. Sew the sleeves into the slots. Sew on the legs. Please note that the inside of the leg must be left free.
Step 9
Cut the lace 4-5 centimeters longer than the neckline. Slide the stopper over one end. Thread the string through the holes on the neckline and secure the second stopper.
Step 10
Sew in a zipper on the back or punch through buttons. You can go for a walk in a new outfit.
