Many parents prefer to make toys with their own hands rather than buying from a store. Such toys are absolutely safe for a child. And most often mothers and grandmothers decide to knit an animal, for example, a tiger.

It is necessary

  • - 30 g of yellow and brown yarn;
  • - 10 g of white yarn for ears and muzzle;
  • - voluminous black button on the spout leg;
  • - two large white and two black smaller buttons for the eyes;
  • - cotton wool for stuffing a tiger;
  • - a piece of felt or flannel for the tongue;
  • - knitting needles for circular knitting No. 1, 5 - 5 pieces.

Instructions

Step 1

Tie the tiger's head first. Cast on 44 sts with brown thread. Divide stitches 11 on each needle, not counting the working needle. Work 12 rows in alternating strips. One strip - 4 rows in a circle. On the 13th, 16th, 17th and 20th rows, decrease one stitch on the first and third needles at the beginning, knitting two stitches together and on the second and fourth needles at the end. Close the loops and sew the remaining hole with the same thread.

Step 2

On the other side of the head, cast on 4 knitting needles, 11 loops each with yellow thread. In the first row, subtract one stitch from each knitting needle, knitting them together. There should be 10 loops on each spoke. In the second row, remove another loop from each knitting needle. Knit the third row. Then remove one loop from each knitting needle in the 4th, 5th, 6th and 7th rows. In the 8th row, subtract 2 loops from each knitting needle. There are 3 loops left on each knitting needle. Stuff your head with cotton wool and tighten the hinges. Hide the thread.

Step 3

Next, knit the torso. Cast on each knitting needle, except for the working one, 11 loops. Work 48 rows alternating between strips. Divide the loops in two. Put one part on a thread or pin, and distribute the other over 3 knitting needles. Work 24 rows in a circle by alternating strips. Then start with each knitting needle at the beginning to decrease one loop until there are only three. Knit them together and thread inward. In this way, knit all 4 legs. But when you knit the last 2 legs, first stuff the body with cotton wool.

Step 4

Tie your ear. To do this, cast on 10 loops with brown thread and knit 10 rows with purl stitch. Also knit a square of white thread. Fold the squares right-side up and sew, rounding the corners. Unscrew the ear and stuff with cotton wool. Sew to the head. Make a second ear and sew it too.

Step 5

Now you need to make an overlay on the muzzle. Cast on the needles 12 loops with white thread and knit 7 cm. From cotton wool make a "sausage" and sew with a knitted rectangle. Pull the part in the center with black thread and sew to the head. Sew a button in place of the spout. Cut a tongue out of the felt and sew under the overlay. To make the eyes of the tiger, place a flat, small black button (no leg) over the large white button, and sew them in place together.

Step 6

The last detail remains - the tail. Cast on 8 stitches with brown thread and knit 24 rows in strips. Close the loops and sew the ponytail lengthwise. Stuff with cotton wool and sew to the tiger's body.
