Sewing soft toys is an incredibly fun activity for both children and adults. Moreover, they can be made from almost any fabric that you have at hand. These can be fur trimmings, scraps of various fabrics, even unnecessary socks and gloves.

It is necessary

  • - pattern of toys;
  • - pieces of fur, fabric, leather;
  • - a needle;
  • - threads;
  • - synthetic winterizer or holofiber;
  • - scissors;
  • - crayon;
  • - fittings for the nose and eyes.

Instructions

Step 1

Pick up patterns for different toys: bears, bunnies, dogs and other animals. Make a life-size pattern. Write the required amount on each part. Find the materials you need. It can be a wide variety of fabrics, fur with a short or long pile, pieces of leather, and so on.

Step 2

Lay the fabric with the wrong side up, attach the patterns, taking into account the direction of the pile (if you are sewing a toy from fur). Please note that details need to be cut out in mirror image.

Step 3

Cut out the details, and if you cut them out of felt, coat fabrics or fluffy fur, then you do not need to leave allowances for the seams. If you are sewing a toy from a thinner material, leave seam allowances of 0.5-1 cm in all cuts and cut out the parts.

Step 4

Connect in pairs the details of the abdomen, paws, ears and head. Fold them right in and sew along the edges by hand with a buttonhole. Try to make the stitches as even and close to each other as possible. Sew thin parts on a sewing machine, leaving a few centimeters unstitched.

Step 5

Turn the parts to the right side, straighten the seams. Stuff them with filler. A synthetic winterizer or holofiber is best suited. You can buy them at craft stores, or rip open your old jacket and pull the pad out of there.

Step 6

Attach the ears to the head, tuck the cut inside the parts and sew them with blind stitches by hand. Sew the legs and tail to the body in the same way, and connect the head and body of the toy.

Step 7

The nose and eyes can be glued with a hot gun ready-made or embroidered with threads on the face. Tie a bow around your head or neck. Sew or knit the desired clothes for the toy, and it will certainly become the most favorite for you and your child.
