Step 1
Crochet a 10x10 cm pattern and use yarn to knit the item. Count the number of columns and rows in one centimeter. Multiply the result by the width of the part. For example, in one centimeter there are 3 columns, the width of the part is 25 cm, 3x25 = 75. Therefore, in the first row you will need to knit 75 stitches. Count the number of rows in the same way.
Step 2
Do not count the number of stitches along the length of the air chain or the small pattern, as the large fabric will tighten during the knitting process. Apply the fabric to the pattern periodically (approximately every 5-10 rows).
Step 3
To knit the neckline, subtract the stitches, referring to the pattern, since it is almost impossible to calculate the exact number of stitches for each size.
Step 4
Start the decrease to knit the armhole with connecting posts. Then knit 1 single crochet, 1 half-crochet and proceed to knitting with columns according to the pattern. Start decreasing gradually, taking into account the height of the row. When knitting with different patterns, the number of columns for decrements may vary, so start with low columns and gradually move up to higher ones.
Step 5
Often, darts are made on crocheted products. Measure the connected part of the part and count the number of rows included in the width of the dart and the number of posts in length. For example, a dart width of 3 cm is 6 rows, and a length of 10 cm is 30 columns.
