Step 1

Take a metal bucket with a volume of about 10 liters. Drill four holes in its bottom.

Step 2

Attach the angle bracket to the first two holes with screws, washers and nuts.

Step 3

Pull a strong rope through the remaining two holes. To prevent it from breaking on the sharp edges of the holes, first remove the chamfers from them. Additionally, it is still mandatory to use washers, preferably from a soft material, such as PCB.

Step 4

Hang a spanner slightly longer than the bucket on the rope. Tighten the key well so that it does not come off. This will be the tongue of a homemade bell.

Step 5

Tie a regular fishing line to the opposite end of the key. Guide it to the pulley on the low-power motor shaft. Choose its power so that it stops under light load. Limit the current through the motor to an incandescent lamp. This is necessary so that it does not burn out when stopped.

Step 6

Hang the homemade bell from the ceiling with a small piece of chain. Make sure it is suspended firmly. Hang the engine on the wall to the side of it.

Step 7

Start the engine. The line will stretch and the wrench will hit the bucket. The engine will stop. Turn off the engine and the wrench will return to its original position. Thus, in order to ring a homemade bell, it is necessary to periodically turn on and off the electric motor.

Step 8

To make your homemade bell ring automatically while the system is powered on, provide a current breaker of any design. It must not only be designed for the current consumed by the electric motor, but also adapted to control exactly the type of motor that is used (collector or asynchronous). You can do without an interrupter if the engine is located below the bucket, and instead of a pulley, put a crank on its shaft, which converts the movement from rotational to reciprocating. Finally, if you wish, do without an engine at all, equipping the bell with a conventional manual drive.
