The beginning of the sports path
Evgeny Malkin was born on July 31, 1986 in the city of Magnitogorsk. His father once played hockey himself, so at the age of 8, his parents send the future world hockey star to the sports school of the Metallurg club.
At first, Malkin could not prove himself in any way. He did not succeed, sometimes he even thought to quit playing hockey altogether.
Not all hockey experts at that time saw in Malkin the future outstanding player. At the age of fifteen, he could not even make his way to the youth team of the Ural region.
However, the incredible ability to work, striving for the goal and innate talent did their job. Malkin often remained on the ice after finishing training, and in 2004 he became the youngest player in the Russian youth team, which won gold medals at the World Youth Championship. Many eminent coaches began to look closely at the talented young Evgeny Malkin.

In 2004, Malkin was drafted by the Pittsburgh Penguins NHL.
