Instructions

Step 1

In drawing, it is important to be able to correctly construct rounded and cylindrical shapes, and therefore you must know what mistakes cannot be made when drawing rounded objects, and how to correctly depict ovals and cylinders. From the correct drawing of oval objects depends on whether you can correctly draw a jug, vase, bottle, mug and any other similar shape. Begin contouring the subject with light guide lines. Remember that the oval should be symmetrical and neat, its sides should not be parallel, and the edges should not be sharp.

Step 2

Determine exactly where on the sheet of paper your item will be located. Draw a thin pencil line corresponding to the center vertical of an object, such as a jug. Then determine the places of the center lines of the future ovals, trying to match the proportions of the jug.

Step 3

Using the sighting method, determine the centers of the ovals and mark the desired places with dots. Then mark with dots the width of the ovals, taking into account the rules of perspective - the far side of the oval should be smaller than the near one.

Step 4

Draw the ovals of the cylindrical object, and then connect them with straight or curved lines, depending on the shape of the object (jug, vase, flask). If the jug you are drawing has a spout and a handle, add proportions and align the handle and spout.

Step 5

The shape of the oval areas of a cylindrical object changes depending on your viewing angle. If you look at the jug from above, the oval will tend to a circle, and if you look at the jug from a distance, the oval will be flat and almost invisible.
