Before you start creating a comic, you need to work out basic drawing skills, namely: knowledge of composition, perspective and design of various objects and characters.
Composition. There should be at least a general understanding of the structure of the picture, a clear transmission, a hierarchy of visual elements. The goal is to convey a message to the reader quickly and efficiently. Why is it so important? More often than not, people read comics as soon as possible. Nobody wants to stumble over incomprehensible images. There are several levels of composition: individual panels and drawings on them, composition of panels on a page, placement of speech bubbles. With a running reading, everything should be clear.
Composition is not only drawing a beautiful, but also intelligible picture. It's not always worth focusing on small details. Therefore, you need to understand that you are not just drawing pictures, but telling a story.
Drawing in perspective. You need to understand how to draw in perspective with one, two, three points. Learn to depict shadows, use zoom in, zoom out. It is necessary to train more often, portraying the hero in space.
Character design. If there is a story, then you tell it through the characters, and they, in turn, should be attractive. Learn to answer the question of how to draw attention to parts of the character's body, give them unique features. Knowledge of anatomy, drawing clothes, accessories, emotions will also come in handy.
Design of vehicles, objects and environments. Characters don't live in a vacuum, they need to interact with something. Houses, mugs, trees, cars, clouds - you have to work with all this.
Working with color. Understand the behavior of light and shadow. Learn to show lighting from different angles, certain light sources, mood using colors.
