If you decide to try yourself in snowboarding, then first of all prepare for the difficulties. Snowboarding is not only entertainment, but also a sport, and doing it you risk getting bruises, dislocations, and sometimes more painful injuries. However, most of the trouble can be avoided by taking the sport seriously.
Instructions
Step 1
You should start with a warm-up. Try to remember the physical education lessons and all the exercises that you did. Your body, as well as some muscle groups, joints, and tendons, are being stressed for the first time in years. Therefore, first of all, it is necessary to prepare the body for possible falls.
Step 2
Of course, you will hardly be able to go right away. First, find a flat spot where you can attach the mount without any problems. Most likely, even getting on the board will be a problem for you. It's all a matter of practice. Try to feel the board, jump on it, feel its weight. When you understand what lies ahead, you can go down a small incline.
Step 3
The first thing to learn is sliding on the heel edge. The board has two edges - back and front. The front is the one in front of you, and the back is behind. With your board in place, bring your weight back, pushing down on the heel edge so you impede movement. To begin gliding, lightly press down on the toe edge with your toes. Try to make everything as smooth as possible, put your arms forward and keep your knees slightly bent. If you feel that the speed is increasing, then move your body back to load the heel edge. At the first stage, your task is to learn how to maintain balance, control speed and be able to stop quickly.
Step 4
Then you should try to slide on the front edge. This will be slightly inconvenient, because you will have to go backwards. There are two ways you can master this technique. The first way is to immediately stand with your back to the descent. To start the movement, you need to move the body to the heel edge, and to slow down - to the front edge. Second method: stand on the board facing the descent, and then in the jump, turn 180 degrees. You can look at the track either over your shoulder or close at hand.
Step 5
When you have mastered both types of sliding, you can start the Falling Leaf exercise. Its name corresponds to the trajectory you ride. Stand facing the slope, that is, you need to lean on the heel edge. While sliding, try to load your right foot more than your left, that is, you need to push harder on the right heel. At the same time, turn your shoulders in the same direction. You want the board to change direction but stay on the edge. Load the opposite leg to return to the starting position.
Step 6
The last thing to learn is the heel edge braking system. To stop at high speed, tilt your body back a little to bring the center of gravity to the heel edge. By doing this, you will feel that the board has begun to unfold. It is at this moment that you need to sit down a little, turn your shoulders across the slope and press on the heel edge. The key is to keep the toe edge raised, otherwise you will catch on the slope and fall facedown.
