Step 1
If you are interested in fiction, find the address of the municipal library closest to your home. This can be done using the directory of organizations. To search for more specialized publications, it is better to contact city, regional and scientific libraries, as well as collections of books at universities - in some cases, outside readers may also be admitted there.
Step 2
Come to the library in person. Take your passport and photo with you - it is often needed for a subscription. Bring a document on education - a certificate or diploma, for a student - a record book. Please note that some scientific libraries are open only to university students and persons with higher education. Also, you may need a small amount of money - the cost of an annual library subscription rarely exceeds 100 rubles, and sometimes the registration is completely free.
Step 3
After registration of the subscription, find the book you need in the paper or electronic catalog. Then use the reading room or take the publication home, if the library rules allow it.
Step 4
If the book you need is only available in another city, contact the Interlibrary Loan Service. It is usually found in large libraries. You can get photocopies of individual pages or the entire book. But the wait for the publication can take up to 2 months.
