The variety of women's hats is amazing: evening, cocktail, top hat, hat with wide brim, simple straw model. This forgotten accessory is regaining its former popularity. There are probably a couple of dusty pieces in your wardrobe too. You have a great opportunity to modernize your hat, give it a second chance and enjoy the new thing. A headdress decorated with your own hands will become your pride.

Instructions
Step 1
Take a wide black satin ribbon. Wrap it around the base of the hat twice, tie a knot and hide the ends under the braid. An alternative is to tie a small bow on the back of the hat and leave the ends of the ribbon hanging loosely from the brim of the hat. At the same time, the edges of the tape should be carefully scorched with a lighter so that the threads do not crumble and do not bloom.
Step 2
Decorate your hat with sequins or glossy nail polish. In the first case, apply drip rubber glue to the brim of the hat and fix black sequins on it. You can create separate elements, streaks or lay out the whole picture. If you have varnish at hand, then you can apply a drawing to the product, only do it very carefully using a simple paint brush. Imagine that your hat is a leopard skin, determine the size of the spots and evenly apply the varnish to the free areas, giving the brush the necessary outlines. Then let the headwear dry completely.
Step 3
A summer hat can be decorated with artificial flowers, butterflies, shells or large beads. Freeform the decor if you are using rubber glue or fishing line. Otherwise, when the product is already equipped with a ribbon or fabric edging, it is better to decorate the model according to the accents already placed. For example, small seashells or river pearls are best attached along the edging line, and bulky butterflies or large flowers should be swept over a satin ribbon or braid.
Step 4
A small hat can be easily decorated with a bow with a flower on one side. Tie a ribbon, fasten a bright decor in the center, for example, a lily, rose or poppy bud, and gently sweep the bow to the base of the headdress. Instead of flowers, you can use rhinestones or large drop-shaped beads.
Step 5
Decorate the children's headdress with lace. Take a piece of thin lace in delicate tones, gather it with a mono thread, then baste along the very edge of the brim of the hat. If the weave density of the material of which the headpiece is made can withstand the pressure of the sewing machine foot, then you can add lace along the contour without tightening the thread.
Step 6
Feel free to decorate models of autumn-spring collections of hats with felt and fur. Match the natural fur and felt to match the material of the hat. Cut a jagged leaf template out of cardboard, place it on the felt, and chalk around a few details. Make blanks, in addition to the leaves, you will need several strips 0.5 cm wide and about 8-10 cm long.
Step 7
Using a clerical knife, make cuts and notches in the sheets so that you can add volume to the details. Applique to one of the sides of the hat. Using a glue gun and glue, attach the leaves to the surface of the product. There are two attachment points: the base of the sheet and the edge of the sheet. When gluing the tips of the leaves, bend them either to the right or to the left, so the details will become convex.
Step 8
Use a knife to cut out thin strips of fur, such as seals. Take a felt strip, drop the glue on one edge and press the end of the fur strip against it. Then wrap the fur around the felt base so that the edges of the skin are joined together. Secure the end of the winding with glue. You should have several stripes, half or a third of which are decorated with fur.
Attach these strips near the base of the leaves or on top of them, also bending the parts to the sides. If the thickness of the felt strips is not large, large beads can be strung on them.
