All clothes and things made even from expensive and high-quality materials fade over time and lose their original color. Any kind of fabric can be dyed to the desired color at home. The simplest coloring agent is tea. Any housewife always has it in stock.
It is necessary
- - the cloth;
- - pan;
- - water;
- - black tea;
- - brush.
Instructions
Step 1
Take a large saucepan, or any container you like. Pour water into it, bring to a boil. Put a few tablespoons of black tea in boiling water. You can use sachets (about 10 pieces). Prepare a solution, stir it constantly. Strain the tea through a sieve. If you used sachets, then catch them and throw them away. Be sure to add a little salt (1 teaspoon) to the water so that the paint does not peel off the fabric. Cool the solution a little.
Step 2
Take the fabric to be dyed. If it is clothes, then remove all things from your pockets. Put it in water and cook for one hour. Stir the fabric constantly so that the paint is evenly applied to it. If you take a hotter solution with tea, then it will give the fabric a richer color, and less hot will give a less pronounced shade.
The fabric will lighten as it dries.
Step 3
Remove the material from the solution, rinse first in warm and then in cool water until the liquid is clear. Squeeze out a little, shake well. See that the entire fabric straightens. Hang it up to dry. After it is all dry, iron it well with an iron.
Step 4
You can paint with a paintbrush to get a stained effect on the fabric. Brew strong black tea and apply the solution to the fabric with a wide, flat brush. Draw any drawing. To brighten the stains, place a small napkin under the fabric to be dyed. A little of the liquid will be absorbed into it, and when it dries, it will come out onto the surface of the fabric. Air dry the fabric, or use a hair dryer.
Step 5
You can put tea leaves on it, under them the fabric will still be tinted. Make the effect of stripes or squares. Cover different areas of the fabric with adhesive tape or scraps of paper.
