For a comfortable, full-fledged rest, a person needs darkness and silence. And if it is easy enough to provide silence - for this, earplugs are sold in the pharmacy, then finding a blindfold is much more difficult. But it will help you sleep peacefully on the road, protect your eyes from the headlights of passing cars, help you not wake up in the summer at six in the morning with the sun. To help you sleep comfortably, you can sew the blindfold yourself.

It is necessary

  • - two pieces of fabric (one of natural fabric, pleasant to the touch, the other - at your discretion);
  • - a needle;
  • - threads;
  • - braid;
  • - scissors;
  • - pencil;
  • - beads;
  • - paper;
  • - rubber;
  • - fabric paints;
  • - a sewing machine (you can also sew by hand).

Instructions

Step 1

On a piece of paper, draw a pattern for the future sleep band. To make things easier, you can grab your sunglasses and circle them. Keep in mind that the blindfold must be wide enough that narrow glasses will not work as a mold.

Step 2

Take scissors and cut out the resulting pattern. Now redraw it on both pieces of fabric, securing it with pins beforehand so that the pattern does not move. You need to circle the pattern, departing from the contour about a centimeter - you need to leave room for the seams.

Step 3

You now have two blanks for the bandage. Place the patterns together, seamy side out, and gently sweep them away, leaving cuts on the sides where you will later insert the elastic. The elastic should not be tight, otherwise the sleeping band will slide off your head or cut your skin. It is best if you use an elastic band 2-3 centimeters wide.

Step 4

Turn the mask right side out, insert an elastic band into the left cuts, sew it on, and then sew the entire product on a sewing machine. Remove the hem.

Step 5

Now you can show all your imagination. Decorate the eye mask with embroidery, sew beads to it, and apply an applique. You can take a lace tape and sew it along the contour of the entire mask - it will turn out very beautifully.

Step 6

Blindfolds with eyes painted on them are popular. Take acrylic paints for the fabric and carefully draw closed eyes on the front of the bandage, or, conversely, wide-open eyes so that others do not guess that you are sleeping. Funny inscriptions on sleep bands are also popular. This mask will also serve as an excellent gift.
