Instructions
Step 1
First you need to calculate how much fabric we will need for the kit. For this, the length and width of the bed are measured. After that, it is easy to determine the footage of the fabric. For this, one bed length is taken per sheet, two lengths per bedspread (plus twenty centimeters for hemming and fabric shrinkage). Pillows are measured in the same way. Ultimately, 10 cm is added to the fabric for seam allowances, and the footage is calculated.
Step 2
After the calculations, it's time to go to the fabric store and decide on the material and color of the fabric for the future set. For bed linen, fabrics made from natural materials such as linen, cotton, calico are optimal.
Step 3
The duvet cover is very simple to sew. Take two rectangles and sew together. A hole for the blanket is left on one side. If there are long and wide fabric cuts, two lengths are measured at once and the remaining three sides are sewn. Then the fabric is folded with the right side inward, the edges are folded where there will be a hole for the blanket, then the side is sewn. The resulting product is turned inside out, the duvet cover is ready.
Step 4
The sheet is sewn even easier, a simple rectangle is cut out, and then the edges of the fabric are processed. You can use either a regular seam or a double hem seam (the edge of the fabric is folded twice by about seven millimeters and stitched with a slight offset from the edge).
Step 5
Pillowcases are sewn in the same way as the duvet cover. Just do not forget about the valve in the hole. The valve is usually laid from 15 centimeters. The kit is ready!
